High waist knit skirt

Found this dress on the womens clearance rack at Target.

After some measuring, cutting and sewing I came up with this.

All of the dresses and skirts my daughter has are fluffy and perfect for spinning.  She has been asking for something a little older and sophisticated.  She loves how it turned out.

Since this is a more fitted skirt I made sure to leave a slit in the back.

I used the shoulder straps from the dress for the tie.

ICE CREAM?

Who loves ice cream?  We do!! We are ice cream lovers.

I started on this a couple months ago. I thought it would be a fun thing to pull out every now and then.  It just Velcros to their bunk beds

Yummy yum!  You can see the ice cream sign is still just pinned on.  My thoughts were to have a few different signs that they can velcro on and off.  Like maybe a Lemonade one, and  also a sign for a flower shop I thought would be fun.
.

My kids love pretend play.

I made sure the cute little window was able to roll up. This makes it easy to hand over the goods to their pretend customers.

A special gift

My daughter was invited to celebrate a good friends birthday.  We are always stumped when it comes to finding the right gift.  My daughter decided she wanted to pick out a book for her friend.  After looking at books she ended up with two really cute ones. Then we decided to make this cute little pillow to go along with them.

A reading pillow for her friend to take to any corner of her house and have some quiet, reading time.

I just used scraps that I had on hand.  It turned out so cute that we wanted to keep it.  It even matched our little reading corner.
I have to say that my inspiration came when I first saw these cute Library Totes over at Made on Maple.
