Back to School

I'm back! I kind of took the summer off. Today my daughter is back at school. The first day of first grade. Here is her back to school look.

We found the cute little black and gray T at Wal-mart for $3.88. I appliqued this fun little polka-dot apple on the front and went to work on the little capris to match.

My daughter and I both love the way they turned out. I had a lot of fun designing the cute little back pockets and also the front pockets.

4th of July Dress

I picked up this fun red, white and blue fabric a while back and held onto it just for this months occassion. But I kept procrastinating and then I procrastinated a little more. My daughter kept asking me when we were going to make her patriotic look. So Sunday night, I needed something quick and easy. So I turned to my pattern box and found The Lily Top, one of Pink Figs patterns. I switched it up a bit. I left of the big ruffle at the bottom. Also instead of using my serger to finish off the edges of the sleeves and neckline I used some red bias tape to give it a little bit more of a punch.

Fourth and final photo shoot post

Here is the final look. This is my little one and she tried on each outfit for me like a million times. So I let her pick which look she wanted to wear for the pictures.

I loved the idea of the shoulder details...this look makes me think of a little uniform.

And of course we got some of everyone together.

Thanks again so much to everyone that helped!

Third photo shoot post

Ok I cannot get enough of the head tilt. Seriously darling.

This is a little one piece that she has on. This is probably one of my favorite pieces. The little rope straps cross in the back and doesn't it just look comfortable.

These two little girls are in my daughters kindergarten class and they are the best of friends.

Here we have the little sailor straight skirt and the tank top that ties over one shoulder.
Like all of the girls, these two really were enjoyable to have help me.

Second post photo shoot--third look

Here is the third look and fifth piece I am showing you today.

Before I say anymore I want to thank all the moms for agreeing for their little girlies to come and be a part of my project. Obviously I couldn't have done it without them. It was a great feeling to see all 6 of the little girls lined up in my designs.

This little one brought a lot of fun to the evening. What a joy she was. Here she is in the little sailor dress complete with the little rope tie around her waist.

My husband wasn't loving the exposed zipper but I thought it gave this little number the spunk I was going for.
